When I first got this book from Gisela Hausmann I thought it is just going to be one of those self-help books which eventually end up telling you nothing at all. But I was wrong. Really wrong.
There are 41 extremely entertaining short stories in this book, and each of them shows you how to get somewhere you want. It doesn’t only tell you how to seize every opportunity that has been given to you in your life, it tells you how to create your own opportunities, and get the most out of every one. Different cultures, life chances, challenges and situations are shown in this book, and each and every one of them is presented in a very humorous way. This book is for every one of us underdogs who need to rise and get out of our shells to do something and become something. It won’t teach you how to become CEO of the biggest company, millionaire or the president of the USA in 24 hours, but it will definitely give you true and informative stories filled with sass, sarcasm and thrills.
Although I never read this type of book, I found it really interesting and inspirational, yet funny and quite original. Each and every one of us has heard ‘You can do it if you believe in yourself’ at least million times in our lives, but this book shows you, from the personal experience of this writer that it actually is so. You can do everything you set your mind to, and there is no one who can stop you. If it feels good to you, there is no one who can convince you otherwise. I absolutely loved how Gisela shared her personal experiences in this book, and that made it even more interesting. She shows us that by blocking all the negative things, both thoughts and people, from your life, and believing in yourself and your ideas, you can improve everything in your life. Hard work is guaranteed, but when you get there you are going to be content. Surround yourself with positive people and say ‘I can do it’. She also shows us that there is nothing better to learn from than our own life and mistakes. And laugh with her to the ones she has already made.
I recommend this insightful, funny and useful read to both man and women, young and old, business owners and students. You will laugh your lungs out and learn a valuable life lesson.
